Short explanation of the story and how it developed:There had been tensions developing in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for years over the Muskrat Falls project. That came to a head in Oct. when a large number of protesters congregated at the work site, with 50 later breaking in. It ended when the provincial government and the aboriginal groups came to an agreement.
Resources of the newsroom (money and time) available to complete the story:It's a single person newsroom, run remotely from my home in St.John's NL. I covered this initially using social media and texting with various protesters I had connected with in the prior months. After 5 days of the protest I was flown there to cover it and was there for about a week. In addition to covering this I also had to provide all the content for two weekly newspapers. This was updated on our website and social media as it developed.
