Short explanation of the story and how it developed: The weekend of Feb 3rd 2024 parts of Cape Breton were hit with 150cm of snow. It clogged roads and trapped people in their homes. The Information Morning CB crew waded through waist deep snow, then slept in the studio so they could provide the public with survival information when they started work on Monday the 5th. But the highlight of our extended show was hearing from Tanya Ellsworth, a woman who was homeless, living in a tent buried in the snow. Because of our show Ellsworth was able to get connected with help and shelter. |
