Short explanation of the story and how it developed: On September 10, 2012, the Atlantic region was preparing for Tropical Storm Leslie which was to begin being felt in our area during the overnight hours. But the morning began with rain and a lot of it in a short period of time. Soon word spread of severe flooding in the Truro area. Global Videojournalist Ray Bradshaw and news camera operator Cory McGraw arrived in the Truro area as the worst of the flooding began to take hold. Together they captured amazing images of the flood waters overflowing the banks of the river, vehicles half submerged, waterfalls in Victoria Park gushing and Stanfield’s factory closing because of flooding in the building. Ray Bradshaw then pulled all the video and interviews into a compelling report that set the tone for our coverage that day and that week. |
