Short explanation of the story and how it developed:

Stephen Puddicombe writes,"There was a lot of criticism over the Miss Ally search the year before. I received the logs and search and rescue audio tapes under access to information request and discovered the truth of the mission...a 60 meter wall of water killed the men...it was worse than a perfect storm we talked with the parents of the captain and put the mom Della Sears on tv and radio for her first interview about the tragedy. We told the real story for the first time."

Resources of the newsroom (money and time) available to complete the story:

This story was done for online, TV and Radio. We had me the principle reporters and researcher, a producer Paul-EMile D'Entremont and Peter Dawon camera person. NB: the audio link is contained within the online article, which you will find above. It took months to get the logs and tapes from search and rescue. It took a couple of week to do the interviews and our through the logs to put the real story together. Cheers
