Short explanation of the story and how it developed: Photographer Andrew Vaughan was driving along the shores of Lake Banook on a mild summer's day when he saw a tableau that could only unfold in the City of Lakes: a swimmer taking a breather to watch a newlywed couple get their wedding photos taken on the boardwalk. Andrew grabbed his ever-ready camera, fearing with every passing moment that the swimmer would leave or the couple would change poses, but the slice-of-life vignette held up while he made his frame. It is a true "moment in time," shot, a little story on a warm summer's day that unfolded quietly and might have gone unnoticed by anyone other than a trained photojournalist - but thanks to Andrew's keen eye and instinct for a photo truly worth a thousand words, the happy moment was captured for posterity. |
