Short explanation of the story and how it developed: In the summer of 2015, while conducting a routine land registry search, I stumbled across an eight-year-old land sale from the N.L. housing corporation to a numbered company. It had just been registered, even though the sale was dated 2007. My curiosity piqued, I carried out a number of registry and other public records searches and ATIP requests that resulted in the never-before-revealed story of how former premier Danny Williams's blind trust made a significant land acquisition from a Crown corporation during his term in office. |

The story took four months of on-and-off records searches and access to information requests to assemble all the pieces of the puzzle.
