Resources of the newsroom (money and time) available to complete the story: This is a 30 minute newscast. In the past CBC NB has done 90 minute and 60 minute evening newscasts. But following budget and staff cuts and a new mandate to focus CBC coverage on digital services CBC Nb's evening newscast was reduced to 30 minutes. It's staff was also reduced. Our "desk" staff who produced this shows included one host, one producer and two technical staff. Even the staff in the field was reduced. Reporters were required to file for this TV program, only after filing stories for online services first. |
