Short explanation of the story and how it developed: This story came about after I wrote a brief about a local exhibition displaying the Cheticamp rug-hooking creations from a recent workshop that was held to help preserve the art. I decided to dive deeper and speak with a workshop mentor and participant about the history of Cheticamp rug-hooking, as well as what the craft meant to each of them personally within their culture and identity. |
