Short explanation of the story and how it developed:

Coronavirus Prisoner: Published in The Chronicle Herald, March 21, 2020 People are forced to remain in their homes as unprecedented lockdowns in Canada and around the world shut down schools, workplaces and economies in response to the rapidly spreading novel coronavirus. Trump Clown/Joker: Published in The Chronicle Herald, January 08, 2020 U.S. President Donald Trump orders a drone attack on an Iranian convoy, killing 10 people including Iran’s security mastermind Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani. The panic surrounding the surprise attack also precipitated the accidental downing of an Iranian passenger plane by Iranian security forces. All this carnage helped change Trump’s widely held global image from a buffoonish clown to a dangerous one. His subsequent actions to undermine U.S. democracy during the 2020 presidential election would cause this same cartoon to reappear throughout the year. Mass Killing: Published in The Chronicle Herald, April 24, 2020 A lone gunman in Portapique N.S. goes on a 13 hour crime spree, killing 22 people in the worst mass shooting in Canadian history.
