Short explanation of the story and how it developed:

A Wolastoqi journalist from Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) in northwestern New Brunswick, Logan was interested in exploring the different arts and crafts of the Wabanaki people across the Maritimes - passed on from previous generations. The Wabanaki Confederacy, or People of the Dawnland, is made up of five distinct Indigenous nations whose territories span Nova Scotia, P.E.I, New Brunswick, parts of Quebec and New England in the United States. With every profile is a common thread of reconnection to language and traditional knowledge.

This project was done over a number of months by Logan Perley and Video Producer Michael Heenan, Senior Producer Jocelyn Elsdon, and Social Media Editor, Maria Jose Burgos.
